William D. Carter, M.D.
William D. Carter, M.D. Dr. Carter is the Director of Nuclear Medicine and the Radiation Safety Officer at Sharp Memorial Hospital. He also serves as the Medical Director of San Diego Nuclear Imaging. Dr. Carter attended the Indiana University School of Medicine after graduating from Purdue University. He completed his internship at the University of South Florida and his residency and fellowship training at the University of Michigan. He joined San Diego Imaging Medical Group in 1982 after finishing his fellowship training.

Dr. Carter is Board Certified with the American Board of Radiology and has exceptional competency in Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging. Dr. Carter is widely published in Oncologic Imaging. Since 1994, he has served as the designated central radiologist for multiple study protocols with the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center of Sharp Healthcare and the Clinical Oncology Research Program.
