Dr. Olsen is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology and is Certified with Added Qualifications in both Neuroradiology and Vascular and Interventional Radiology. These are the highest qualifications in these areas of professional subspecialization. Dr. Olsen joined San Diego Imaging Medical Group in 1995. As a member of Bay Radiology, he provided professional radiology services to the Chula Vista and Coronado areas until Bay Radiology joined SDDR in 1995. Dr. Olsen is currently the Chief of Radiology at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center.
A graduate of Colgate University, Dr. Olsen attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine, earning his medical degree in 1981. He completed his internship at the University of California, San Diego before heading to Boston University Medical Center to complete his residency in Diagnostic Radiology. Dr. Olsen completed his fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of California, San Francisco, and was on the Radiology faculty at UCSF for two years before moving to San Diego. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. In 2004 and 2005, Dr. Olsen was chosen by his peers as one of San Diego’s Best Doctors.
